A multi-skilled strategic leader, Rodrigo Torras brings more than 20 years of international experience in diverse industries within Latin America leadership roles.
Buenos Aires, XX August 2026 – Leading global towage and marine solutions provider, Svitzer, has
appointed Rodrigo Torras as Managing Director in Argentina, where he will oversee an operation of more 100 crew members in six ports.
Torras holds vast experience in the maritime industry, having served as CEO and managing director of port operations in critical ports across Latin America, namely in Cartagena and Buenaventura, in Colombia, and Buenos Aires and Bahía Blanca in Argentina, providing him with well-rounded insights of customers’ needs and expectations.
“I’m certain that in this new role, Rodrigo will generate sustainable value for Svitzer and our clients, and propel growth in a market as complex and vibrant as Argentina,” said Daniel Reedtz Cohen, Managing Director for Svitzer Americas.
Torras returns to the Svitzer team, where he previously served as managing director of Svitzer Americas’ Terminal Towage cluster, comprised of Svitzer’s operations in the Bahamas, Canada, Costa Rica, Perú and St. Eustatius, being the company’s largest cluster in the region at the time, in operational capacity and revenue.

“Svitzer’s culture and values are ones I’ve always admired; they show up in how the company operates day to day, Torras said. “Having had the chance to broaden my perspective outside the company, I come back with fresh ideas, a renewed appreciation for what makes Svitzer distinctive in this industry, and a clear sense of why this is the right place for me.”
In addition to his professional roles, Rodrigo is a board member of the Maritime and Port chamber of the National Industrial Association (ANDI) in Colombia, and of the American Association of Port Authorities, Latam Chapter, and has served as a teacher and mentor for low-income university students in Argentina.
