Svitzer Australia Officially Launches Reconciliation Action Plan
Fremantle, 16 June 2026: During National Reconciliation Week in May, Svitzer Australia officially launched its inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), formalising the company’s commitment to advancing reconciliation and creating meaningful economic, social and cultural opportunities with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The RAP marks an important milestone in Svitzer Australia’s reconciliation journey. While the organisation initially commenced the process intending to develop a Reflect RAP, Reconciliation Australia recognised the significant work already underway across the business and encouraged immediate progression to the Innovate RAP stage.
This recognition reflects the longstanding efforts of Svitzer employees across a range of areas, including procurement, employment pathways, education partnerships and community engagement.
Official launch events were held in Balmain and Fremantle, bringing together employees, customers, suppliers, community partners and industry representatives to celebrate the milestone and reflect on Svitzer’s ongoing commitment to reconciliation.
As a maritime company, Svitzer recognises the strong connection between its operations, the communities it serves and Country. The RAP reinforces the company’s commitment to building respectful relationships, deepening cultural understanding and ensuring its presence contributes positively to the communities in which it operates.
Svitzer Australia also announced a multi-year extension of its national partnerships with the Clontarf Foundation and the Stars Foundation.
Together, these organisations support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people through education, mentoring, personal development and employment pathways. The continued partnerships reflect Svitzer’s commitment to supporting positive outcomes for young people and strengthening connections with the communities in which the company operates.
The RAP also recognises the importance of creating sustainable opportunities through employment, education and supplier diversity initiatives, while continuing to strengthen engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Australia.
