About Svitzer SeaBadger Hull Cleaning
Since 1833, Svitzer has grown to a global market leader providing towage and sustainable marine solutions to customers in 30+ countries across 4 regions. As a global leader in towage and marine-related services, we employ more than 4,000 people across 30+ countries and operates over 400 vessels.
Adding hull cleaning to Svitzer’s marine solutions portfolio came naturally for Svitzer. Thanks to our global port coverage, we can offer a standardized high quality service level of hull cleaning for vessel owner and operators. Combined with the support of our mother company A.P. Moller-Maersk, a partnership with the developers of the SeaBadger, and partnership with local ROV operators came naturally. Our mission is to bring safe and efficient diver-less hull cleaning to help our customers save fuel and reduce their environmental footprint.
Diver-less hull cleaning procedure, as the cleaning is done 100% by a Remotely Operated Vehicle.
Studies demonstrates that hull cleaning can improve fuel efficiency by up to 9%, depending on the fouling conditions. This represents substantial savings and lower carbon footprint.
Proven brushless technology that prolongs the life of the anti-fouling coating. With its adjustable water pressure system, the ROV operator can adjust in real time the pressure in order to avoid damaging the coating whilst efficiently cleaning the hull.
Thanks to its patented thruster technology, the SeaBadger cleaning capabilities is up to 1200sqm per hour and in rough conditions with current up to 4 knots. That allows the SeaBadger to proceed to cleaning operations in sector where no other ROV or divers can operate.
With its advanced the recovery system, the fouling is filtered and recovered during the cleaning operations. It is then disposed of safely to minimize the risk of spreading invasive species, which is aligned with some ports regulations.
Combined to our efficient and safe cleaning, the whole operations is recorded onboard and a detailed cleaning report is provided to the vessel crew and technical team for review. Full video feed of the cleaning is available on demand.
