New harbour towage contracts signed in Australia and Europe.

In Europe, Svitzer has added five further ports to the 22 already served for CMA CGM, a global leader in container shipping. The new agreement includes Maasvlakte, in Rotterdam, where we recently started operations, as well as Bremerhaven, Sines and Liverpool.

“We are excited about the expanded cooperation with CMA CGM,” says Marc Niederer, MD Svitzer Europe. “We will continue to work closely together to continuously improve vessel turnaround time in the ports by closely liaising with pilots, port authorities and terminal operators.”

In Australia, the newly signed agreement engages Svitzer’s capability in delivering flexible and reliable towage services to the national ship calls of CMA CGM, specifically in the ports of Brisbane, Port Botany, Melbourne, Port Adelaide and Fremantle.

“The agreement with CMA CGM adds to our strong portfolio of customers. We look very much forward to this national cooperation with CMA CGM/ANL and assisting them in discovering further value within the extensive vessel network in which they operate,” says Mark Malone,
MD Svitzer Australia.

The agreements were effective from late June for a large proportion of the ports, and all CMA/CGM business is now being served by Svitzer, with the exception of Bremerhaven, which will be moved by 2016.
