Tug designs

Based on Svitzer’s tried and tested designs, we strive to ensure a perfect fit by customising each vessel to its specific task. The superior qualities of these vessels make them the ideal starting point for delivering on almost any of our customers’ unique demands.

S80/33 (LNG)

With its impressive 80 TBP Azimuth Stern Drive propulsion, extended width and a spacious, raised forecastle deck, the S80/33 offers improved stability which optimise working conditions during demanding terminal and escort operations. Its engine power, winch options and built-in fender system makes the S80/33 an ideal vessel for LNG terminal operations. Optional ECO and Hybrid versions are also available.

  • Length o.a.: 33.3 m
  • Breadth (MLD): 13 m
  • Draft: 4.6/5.4 m
  • Main engine power: 4,400 kW
  • Design speed: 12.5 kn
  • Bollard pull: 80 t

S65/31 (Multi purpose)

The S65/31 features a hull design specially optimised for both harbour and offshore operations. Together with high manoeuvrability and a very efficient propulsion package, it is capable of performing a wide range of tasks related to both harbour and terminal operation. With its efficient FiFi1 system it will cover the need for fire fighting capabilities in most ports.

  • Length o.a.: 31.5 m
  • Breadth (MLD): 11 m
  • Draft: 4.6/5.3 m
  • Main engine power: 3,660 kW
  • Design speed: 12.5 kn
  • Bollard pull: 65 t

S65/32 (ECO)

The ECOtug® is modelled on our renowned S65/31 tug design. The vessel features an efficient SCR plant that almost eliminates SOx, NOx and particulates. Furthermore, the tug has diesel-electric propulsion that significantly reduces CO2 emission and fully electrical deck machinery, reducing noise and avoiding oil on deck. The ECOtug is uniquely suited for harbour missions, terminal missions and operations in environmentally sensitive areas.

  • Length o.a.: 31.5 m
  • Breadth (MLD): 11 m
  • Draft: 3.9/4.6 m
  • Main engine power: 4,800 kW
  • Design speed: 12.5 kn
  • Bollard pull: 65 t

S75/45 (MSV)

The S75/45 is a Marine Support Vessel that can serve as a combined service and towage vessel. Its length and the strengthened deck give the possibility of carrying cargo thus making it ideal as tug and support vessel for smaller installations such as Floating LNG terminals, FSO’s and FPSO’s. Due to its ASD propulsion the vessel is also capable of doing harbour and terminal assistance.

  • Length o.a.: 45.64 m
  • Breadth (MLD): 13.2 m
  • Draft: 4.8 m
  • Main engine power: 4,400 kW
  • Design speed: 13 kn
  • Bollard pull: 75 t

S70/33 (ICE)

The S70/33 vessel has the escort class notation and can be ice classified from A1 to C1 depending on the operational needs.
With its reinforced ice bow, strengthened propulsion and additional insulation it expands the operational window in icy conditions considerably.

  • Length o.a.: 33.3 m
  • Breadth (MLD): 13 m
  • Draft: 5.0/5.8 m
  • Main engine power: 4,400 kW
  • Design speed: 12 kn
  • Bollard pull: 70 t

S70/35 (Escort – Voith)

The Voith propulsion design of the S70/33 provides it with superior manoeuvrability. Together with the extended width, which provides better stability during escorting, and excellent visibility from the operator seat, this tug is especially suited for demanding escort operations.

  • Length o.a.: 35 m
  • Breadth (MLD): 12.5 m
  • Draft: 2.85/5.65 m
  • Main engine power: 6,100 kW
  • Design speed: 14 kn
  • Bollard pull: 70 t
