With its revolutionary design, Svitzer’s TRAnsverse tug takes manoeuvrability and towing capabilities to the next level.

That’s the conclusion of a newly published White Paper, which includes data from sea trial and from the tug’s first months of operation.

At speeds above 2-3 knots in dynamic modes, the TRAnsverse tug expands the operating envelope by around 50% compared to similar or larger size standard ASD tug designs.

Further, the TRAnsverse tug has shown a fuel efficiency gain of 15%.

At Svitzer, we’re proud to be working with Gastrade and to have been awarded a 15-year contract for the delivery of full-service terminal towage services to their flagship LNG terminal in Alexandroupolis.

When large LNG carriers arrive at the terminal to offload large volumes of liquid natural gas, safe, efficient and reliable towage services are critically important for the berthing and unberthing of these massive vessels.
